Born in Africa, Linda has worked as a professional artist and illustrator for over twenty five years. Working mostly in her favourite watercolour and often incorporating inscribed gold leaf, Linda takes inspiration from medieval and renaissance art. Decorative Persian, Indian and Egyptian patterning are a passion as are birds as a subject. The freedom and colour of birds is emblematic of so many human traits and conditions. Linda’s paintings feel like a modern expression of something very old. Her art has a narrative quality sometimes evocative of folk art and indeed she has illustrated many children’s books. Based in Shropshire Linda works from her studio in a beautiful old town house overlooking the River Severn.
